Chrome Extension
Select a phone number on any website and send it a WhatsApp template or free-form message — text, media, or interactive — right from the page.
What you can do
- Click the round MotherBot button that appears next to phone numbers on any website, or highlight a number and right-click.
- Send approved templates with variables and header media.
- Send free-form text, image, document, or interactive (buttons / list / CTA) messages.
- Upload media and choose which of your WhatsApp numbers to send from.
- Add Customer — create or update a CRM contact from details on the page, using your own custom fields.
- Insert your saved Quick Replies into a text message.
Every send is logged in your dashboard and appears in Live Chat like any other outbound message.
Prerequisites
- A MotherBot account with at least one connected WhatsApp number.
- A plan that includes the Chrome Extension integration.
- Google Chrome (or any Chromium browser that supports Chrome Web Store extensions).
Step 1 — Generate your access token

Open the integration
Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Chrome Extension and click Connect.

Copy the token
A one-time token starting with
cext_ is shown. Copy it now — it's displayed only once. Rotate it any time from the same card.Step 2 — Install the extension

Add to Chrome
Install it straight from the Chrome Web Store — you can do this before or after generating the token:Add to ChromeThe same button is on the integration card in your dashboard. Any Chromium browser that can install from the Chrome Web Store works — Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc.

Open connection settings
Click the MotherBot extension icon → Settings.

Connect
Leave the MotherBot address as
https://motherbot.io, paste the cext_ token, then press Save and check. The token stays on your computer and is never synced.The button next to phone numbers
A small round MotherBot button appears after every phone number on the websites you visit. Click it for a short menu: Send WhatsApp message, Add to customers, Copy number, or Hide these buttons on this site.
- It's on by default. Chrome asks you once to allow MotherBot on websites — the extension's welcome page has the Allow button.
- Turn it off for one site from the button's menu or the toolbar pop-up, or everywhere in Settings.
- MotherBot looks for numbers in your own browser and never sends the page anywhere. Only the number you click is used.
- Phone links (tel:) and WhatsApp links (wa.me) get a button too. Prices, order numbers, dates and text you are typing don't.
Extension settings
Open the extension’s Settings to choose:
- What the button does: a short menu, or straight to the message box. Its size, and which numbers get one.
- The websites where the buttons are hidden.
- Which side the message box opens on, and the message type it starts with. "Choose for me" picks a template when the 24-hour window is closed and text when it's open.
- A country code for 10-digit numbers, if your account doesn't set one.
- Ask again before sending to more than a set number of people, and close the message box after a send.
- Privacy: whether to save the website's name with each send, and whether to remember numbers you recently messaged (on your computer only).
- Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+W opens the message box for the number you selected, and Alt+Shift+M opens the pop-up.
Step 3 — Send a message

Pick a number
Select a phone number on any page and choose Send WhatsApp message from the right-click menu, or click the toolbar icon and paste one or more numbers.

Compose
Choose a template (with variables and optional header media) or a free-form message. A live banner tells you whether the contact is inside the 24-hour window.

Send
The composer shows a per-number result — sent, failed, or skipped.
Warning
Free-form (non-template) messages can only reach contacts who messaged you in the last 24 hours. Outside that window, use an approved template.
Tip
Big lists keep sending after you close the tab. Above 250 numbers the send is handed to our servers instead of being made while you wait: you get a progress line straight away and it fills in as the messages go out, at the pace your WhatsApp number can safely absorb. Failed sends are retried automatically and nothing is ever sent twice. You can close the tab and the sending carries on. Rows that can never send — an unusable number, a duplicate, a blocked or opted-out contact, a bad media link — are listed immediately rather than at the end.
Admin controls
Controlled from the dashboard card — no reinstall needed:
- Enable/disable templates, free-form, uploads, multi-number send, and Add Customer.
- Set a daily send limit and max numbers per send.
- Set a default country code and restrict which WhatsApp numbers and template categories are allowed.
Tip
Downgrading to a plan without the extension instantly revokes the token — sending stops until you reconnect on an eligible plan.
